Is AAA worth it?

I have the plus. Worth it x10000. You only get so many tows a year. I've used them all, every year, which covered well more than the cost.

Used to, but nowadays it ain't worth it. I drive < 1000 miles/year. I have jumper cables in both cars. Haven't needed assistance for long as I can remember. Only thing I miss is the free maps.

No option in the poll for me🙁

Plus membership for me and the rest of the family. I'm a Satellite Dish installer and drive 40,000+ miles a year. I use it 2-3 times a year on average for roadside assistance. The first tow makes it worth it. The other benefits, discounts, etc., are all icing on the cake😀

WTT

Definitely worth it for me considering the age of my vehicles and how many miles I put on them in a given year. It has more than paid for itself every year I've had it.

I have the plus...

Up to 100 miles towing
No charge for fuel delivery (i've gotten 5 gallons once delivered)
Up to $100 covered for services of a locksmith (great for car or home)
two trucks for up to 1 hour if you need winching service

i've used the towing, fuel delivery, and locksmith services...

all worth every penny of membership

It's worth every penny. I've got the plus for myself and my wife. If you get it and are doing anything mildly travel related ask about a AAA discount. Also, if you're going on a car trip go in and ask for a triptik. It's a set of turn by turn directions with lists of what is available at each exit. It's great for deciding on when and where to stop on your trip.

I also got a discount on glasses which saved me a lot more money than the cost of the annual membership. Worth it imo for the perks.

I save enough on the discounts to cover the membership. The tourbooks are great. If AAA says "Joe's Low-end Motel and Laundromat" is a 3-star place to stay, it will be. I don't have to wonder if a place is going to be OK.

I won't have AAA. If it were a good deal for the consumer, it wouldn't be offered. Maintain your car, and it most likely won't need towing. Put a spare key in your wallet if you like locking your keys in the car.

AAA plus is $100 a year, you get 100 miles of towing. Without AAA a toe truck place will charge $8-10 per mile towed plus fees. If I get towed 15 miles I already saved probably $70 bucks. If I needed to get toed from say San Diego to Riverside, I would save about 700 to 900 bucks alone. Not even mentioning the discounts you get at food spots and other places. If you don't use it, that's a different story. But if you get toed once, even a pretty short distance you're good. I had to get toed from San Diego to Riverside without AAA and I'll just say the bill sucked ass. I could have bough a i7 CPU + MB + near top of the line video card. With AAA I wouldn't have had to put a dine out of my pocket.

$100 > $850 any day of the week.

3 10-15 mile tows a year you'd be saving a few hundred.
