Is a PS3 worth $375?

As a BR player alone it's worth more than that. If an HD movie player is not useful to you, then as a game player alone I'm not if it's worh that or not. But the games will come. It's just a matter of whether or not you think that by the time the system has several good titles you want to play you will be able to find it for less than $375.

Yes it is expensive, yes the game selection is limited, but it is a new product...just give it time, guys.

I got a PS3 a few weeks ago, and it performs better than my roommate's 360 (Madden) graphics wise. The bottom line is the PS3 is not only more powerful than the 360, but offers additional features that one would need to pay extra for to utilize on the 360 (HD-DVD/Blu-Ray, Bluetooth, wifi). Additionally, the PS3 online service is free. Granted, these features may not justify the price difference for all, but those who do purchase based on these differences should not be ridiculed for it.

The PS3 is a nice system, so is the Xbox, but for all of you guys to sit here on this forum dumping on something you may have never played nor seen is ludicrous.

I'll have to disagree. GoW > R:FOM.

Power is debateable, and would spark a nice big flamewar. I'll say that the 360 is definitely more developer-friendly though. It'd be a much nicer BD player if I didn't have to switch between 720p and 1080i every time I wanted to play a game vs. watch a flick. Scaler issues FTL.

Props for the stupidly fast boot and play from sleep mode though.

Additionally, the PS3 online service is free.

And sucks, compared to XBL.

I've yet to see an independent review site that says that a game released on both looks better on the PS3. I've seen some say slightly better on the 360 and others say it's indistinguishable.
