Bought new components

asus an8-e
a64 3000 venice boxed
2x512mb twinmos (normal aadt)
tagan 480 u-22
6600gt leadtek

Can't get it to boot.
Tried everything.
Checked the Psu, is working correct.

The mobo never comes to live, no fan ever starts.
Already spoked to the supplier it's ok to send it back.

There's just one thing.
I don't have an atx case.
I'm planning on building a wooden case.
Could the problem be that there isn't a powerswitch connected?
Or that it needs a metal case?

How were you trying to turn it on without a power switch hooked up? Shorting out the pins where the switch would plug into the motherboard?

Motherboards do not require a power switch to power up. All they require is a momentary shorting of the proper two pins on the header. If you were using the right two pins, something else is the problem.
