Is a passport required for domestic travel in US?

Yes. As a result of George Bush's enhanced Homeland Security measures, you now have to be in possession of a valid US passport to cross state lines.

Unless the op is a foreigner, (who may not understand US laws) how the fuck can anyone be so dammed stupid?

No, the poor bastard just got his eyes stuck skyward; cut him some slack.

miami is the capital of south america so i can see how the OP might be confused. well, if he hadn't said domestic travel, that is. wtf.

That reminds me...I need to apply for my passport.

But no...not required for domestic travel, nor ever should be. Period. Fvck anyone who thinks it should be.

are you a non-US citizen? If so, then AFAIK it is "required" at the airport. This all depends on how foreign you appear....

whoa, a lot of people jumping on OP's ass. assuming he left out the crucial detail that: he is a not a US citizen, then it would be required. If he is a US citizen, then yes, OP is an idiot for asking. 😉

You're so mean. Light a dutch.

Passports are required to get through an immigration check at a national border such as an airport.

Domestic flights are just treated as local travel, much like catching a bus.

There, I answered your question and didn't abuse you in the process.
