Well that would be a first.

Yes indeed, you could say. But in many situations this "hero" behavior comes out to shine natural in otherwise "ordinary" humans. There are a lot of people willing to sacrifice themselves in order to save others. Combined with the proper use of knowledge, the sacrifice no longer needs to be the end. It can be a continuation as well. Or even a path into a new direction.

The issue here is, how to free yourself from your instincts while not turning into an apathetic form of life. A better question would be, how to change your instincts while not turning into an apathetic form of life. Perhaps our little invisible friends (for the naked eye) can help us out in the long run...
