Is a nice smile worth everything these days ??

You know when I was 17, on the very next visit to the dental office, I was suppose to get braces.
Well, I skipped that visit.

Fast forward 14 yrs later, being tired of hiding my teeth, I finally got alot of work done.
(Of course I was financially able to do it.)
Well, being in position of having a nice smile and not, I have to say its worth everybit of the money I spent.
If I knew what a difference it makes, I would have gotten those braces a long time ago.

Personally, I believe having a nice smile makes a world of difference.
I notice now that I tend to smile alot more now when interaction with others.
 
Agreed. My teeth were becoming yellow from the abuse that most people have sitting in front of a copm all day (soda, coffee). I spent about $300 last year on professional whitening and it made a huge difference. I have to do it again soon since they're slowly becoming less white again (since I have the molds and have taken most stains out already I only need the touch up gel), but it was well worth the money.

One of the first things I notice is somebody's teeth. If they're well shaped and in order and white it makes them far more attractive. If mine were all out of line and crap I'd get braces too.
 
Absolutely. I hate how so many people are grumpy and never smile these days. It makes people feel good to see smiles!

My teeth aren't bad, but they aren't great. They're genetically darker colored and I chipped two of them while wrestling in high school and never got them fixed. Oh well - maybe someday when I have free time and extra money. I don't really mind how it looks but I'm worried about getting cavities in the chipped area.
 
A nice smile worth alot, but not everything. Well, I think I might go see a dentist - I haven't seen one in the last 5 years 😀

I just spent $2500ish on a bite adjustment, bleaching, and a veneer for a dead tooth (#8). I'm getting the permanent veneer on in a few weeks, but even with the temporary and only 1 day of bleaching I'm stoked about my teeth!

I think having a great smile is very important. I hated braces when I had them, but now I'm glad I got them. 😀

After my braces I definitely have noticed for years that I have tended to smile more, it just makes you feel better in general to smile every now and then
 
A nice smile is important unless you are a toothless whore and then teeth detract from your business...

they put in some bamber plates and tighten the upper control arms a bit.

$300 for a professional whitening? Point me in the direction! That is alot cheaper than I have heard it is. I think I would like to get mine whitened also, from soda's and what not makin em dull.

An apeish friend of mine had a bad underbite and they told him it would entail a jaw breaking. he never got it done 🙂 I don't think I would have either!
 
I don't mind if teeth are perfect. In fact, if someones teeth are "flawless" it kind of bugs me.

Of cource, if your teeth are totally screwed up getting them fixed might be a must, but if they are a little crooked who cares? Adds distinction and uniqueness IMO.

I kind of write about this in my book: smilers versus non-smilers. I'm convinced we all fall into one of these two categories.


Smilers are liked. Non-smilers are not liked.

We cozy up to smilers. We avoid non-smilers.

Which might explain why a lot of us don't much flip over Muqtada al-Sadr. Not only does this cleric not smile. He scowls, which is even worse than not smiling.

He's right up there on the nasty charts with Usama bin Laden, who doesn't smile either. Both men have their followers, but it's got to be fear. They aren't scoring points on the warm and fuzzy front.

I suspect John Kerry has problems smiling, though when he does, he does loosen up a lot. He should take a cue from Al Gore, who in his debates with George Bush, never smiled, but did sulk and hiss. I think it cost Al.

President Bush is a smiler. Although he should probably be careful, because his smiling sometimes becomes a smirk and the Washington press corps hates smirks -- which might be why he's smirking in the first place.

I think his predecessor Bill Clinton got out of a whole heap of trouble because he was a great smiler -- maybe a bit too smooth for some. But he dodged a lot of bullets with that smoothery.

John Kennedy? Smiler. Richard Nixon? Non-smiler.

Winston Churchill? Smiler. Adolph Hitler? Non-smiler.

You get the point. Smile and the world's your oyster. Scowl and you're an oyster? without a pearl in sight!
 
Huh. I would have said based on all the reality shows that hand out boob jobs like nickles that a nice RACK was worth everything these days.

It's tooth shaping. Most of my tooth contact was between my bicuspids -- very little molar contact. It caused undue jaw strain and clicking. Now my teeth have much more molar contact. It's strange, but I like it.
