My wife pulled a back muscle lifting a heavy box last night is stiff and in pain this morning. I'm wondering if a muscle relaxer would be beneficial or if she should just stick with ibuprofen?

It would probably be preferential to see a doctor if it's bothering her that much. You'd be surprised how easy it is to actually tear muscles in your back. I would just stick with ibuprofen to be perfectly honest.

lol good advice......

but i agree with social in that you should definitely consult your regular doctor and see if its really necessary.

seems superfluous. i've injured my back before, just take a simple anti-inflammatory (ibuprofen) and rest/ice. a doctor will probably prescribe an anti-inflammatory like mobic (meloxicam) if you do go to see a doctor.
