Is a mouse better in PS/2 or USB

On a modern PC, I would hightly recommend USB.

But on a Pentium II or older, the use of USB mouse will actually eat up some much needed CPU power.

My rule of thumb: P3 or better: USB, P2 or older: PS/2

If you dual boot to other operating systems that do not support USB (Win 3.1, DOS, etc...) then use the PS/2 port to cover all the operating systems with out switching cables around. Another reason to use one port over the other is that the USB mouse would free up one IRQ if you need it, as the PS/2 port will use up one IRQ all by itself. I would also follow the general rules that Halfadder talks about above.

Yes use USB,btw FYI the new Razer Diamondback gaming mouse is USB only,do you think Razer would design a gaming mouse for USB only if PS/2 was superior.

Oh well, it's already settled anyway. Logitech themselves said that it doesn't really matter, but if you had to recommend one it'd be USB.
