Is a DLink DI-704 a good choice as my first attempt at networking?

Have a chance to get an almost-new one for $25. Worth it?

Other choices that would be better?

Thanks.

Absolutely. IIRC, the 704 is the big brother of the 604 - added benefit being a shared printer. Go for it.

I used one in my college apartment last year; I knew nothing about networking beforehand and I had no trouble at all with it. Seemed like a pretty decent router, the only thing I ever noticed was that it needed to be reset about 3 times a month.

I thought there had to be a "P" in the model name for it to have print servering capability (i.e. 704P)? I think this because I own a 704P :)

Great router/print server by the way, it replaced my SMC 7004ABR which died on me.

I haven't had to reset it for the couple months that I've had mine (DI-704P).
