is a BLT healthier than other sandwiches (with meat)?

I only need 1 layer of bacon on a BLT to get a lot of flavor, but with other meats, I have to put like 3-4 layers, so I was wondering if BLT's are healthier than say... roast beef sandwiches since there's less of it

I would kill to have a good Roast Beef sandwich right now. 🙁

i would say with equal amounts bacon and for example, low-fat turkey breast, the lunch meat sandwich would be healthier.

then again maybe the way they process the lunch meat makes it similar to bacon for fat.

nothing beats a good BLT though. delicious lettuce and tomato, and mayo. FTW

Sorry but a BLT is NOT healthier than other sandwiches with meat. Pork is not as good for you as Turkey or Chicken.

I find this myth: Plausible. Many non-bacon based sandwiches not only have large amounts of meat (typically cured in a sodium-containing marinade, by the way), but a slice or two of cheese. When you factor in the fat from this cheese, it seems pretty easy for a well-stacked deli sandwich to play fat boy to BLT's slim.

Sure, you may use a little less meat on the other sandwiches than the amount of bacon you use, but seriously... is there any meat that's worse for you than bacon? Bacon is about the fattiest meat there is. Also, I don't make sandwiches from crappy deli meats. There are plenty of varieties of roast beef and turkey that aren't filled with processing chemicals. Ditto for him. Also, if you get the meat shaved, rather than sliced a little thicker, there's more surface area & your mouth detects more of the tasty goodness.

A BLT isn't healthy the way I make one. I replace the tomato with more bacon, so it's a BLB with heavy mayo. They will kill you, but it's not a bad way to go.

I never get anything other than turkey or chicken breast.

One time I thought about getting roast beef and turkey but said fuck it.
