Got mine to 1133. I think that's it for my chip. I've heard someone got 1G to go 1.4G, but I think he is doing something "unnatural", like water/nitrogen-cooled :)

I guess it depends on what you mean by good enough. With some of the other posts about 1gig doing 1.4, I thought 1.2 was going to be cake walk. It's not. So my expectations were not met thus I was dissapointed. Now that I know a little more, I see the performance of my scant 1gig at 1100 and I think back to just a little while ago when I was running my pII 300 and i think Yeah, it's good enough....for now

the guys reaching 1.4 ghz are using 133mhz FSB, which means buying a new motherboard

Yep. You would need the KT133a chipset on the mobo to get a reliable 133FSB.

Unfortunately, I AM using a kt133a board. Still can't get it stable over 1100. Running at 7.5x146. Good ram too. Oh well. Got it as high as 1197 but won't run some programs i.e. unstable:(

Hmmm, right now I'm running my 1 GHz at 10*110, 143 MHz 2-2-2 on VCM RAM.

Going to unlock my chip next weekend....

BTW, what's the standard voltage of the 1 gig T-bird?

Don't you guys ever wonder why we push the CPUs so far? How much does the human mind really perceive how fast from 1Ghz to 1.4Ghz? Oh well! I got my friend's 1Ghz up to 1.3Ghz. Too bad the MB does not allow 133 bus speed. It's the Abit KT7-RAID.

It's like a car... why have one that can do 300km/h when there are no speed limits that are even remotely close to that? (except in germany) It's about bragging rights, and seeing how far you can push your cpu. It's a hobby for me, and many others heh. My 1gig bird is flying at mach chicken right now, 1406mhz with no unnatural cooling, just a simple fop 32... I know it's probably overkill, but I had a lot of fun and heartache tweaking it. My 2 cents
