is 8600gts a good replacement for my x800 128mb/700mhz version

8600gts 256mb for $69 - 20 google checkout = $49...

I only play wow ...
cpu = amd 3200+
memory = 1.5gb

Am I going to see any improvement in wow with my cpu?

Go for it!! It's almost free. You should clearly see a performance improvement even with that cpu in wow.

I had a large performance increase going from a x800 to a x1950 Pro which offers roughly the same performance as a 8600 GTS!

As far as WoW -- WoW is a cpu pig. People have reported smooth gameplay with video cards even more feeble than the 8600GTS (the craptastic 8500GT) -- but they had modern CPUs.

The card is dirt cheap, and at < $70 a decent value. Go for it. Just don't expect it to cure all performance problems -- your single core 2 ghz CPU qualifies for a social security check. You'll be able to view the slideshow at higher resolution and with more eye candy though.

8600GTS is a reasonable jump over a X800,though like others said,WoW is more CPU dependant.
