is 8 bit paletted textures even supported anymore?

to me, lately there isn't any good games, most of them get boring fast, so i started to play final fantasy 8 for pc, but the 8 bit paletted texture in the d3d feature always fails, & the game looks really ugly without this feature, is this a feature that can be enabled from the videocard or directx?

It's a video feature. As far as I know tnts don't support it. GFs do, and voodoos 1-5 do.

It's not the paletted textures that's making FF8 ugly. It's just an ugly game.

The lack of paletted textures for FF8 make absolutely no difference in appearance.
