I wouldn't say great, but it is pretty good image quality except for indoors it tends to loose some of its saturation.

Leave it to me to piss off my most bestest friend after a three week leave! ;) Got over 300 working hours under my belt in those three weeks, which should enable me to finally afford this toy. I still hate to waste money on it if there's a better deal to be had. This deal is important to me bmacd, so please forgive my snippyness. Been scoping out the info for quite a while:

Well I have $$ comming and need to know..Best Digital Camera $300-$400 range? - Brutuskend Wednesday, April 17, 2002

boy, not too many votes for Sony in here. Well, I've owned a Sony DSC-S75 for about a year now, and I love it. You can check out DPReview's review of it here It takes great pics, is loaded with features, and the battery life is second-to-none. I've taken over 6,000 pics in the year that I've owned it so far.

Unfortunately, DPReview does not have a review of Canon's S30, for comparison. However, be sure to check out DPReview's side-by-side comparison feature, which is a great tool for comparing features of several cameras.

for the record, i'm not affiliated with DPReview (except for being a regular visitor to their site ;) ), I just think it's one of the best sources of digital camera information anywhere on the net.

well, anyway, hope this helps.

I'm not going to jump till I handle a few cameras, but this is still the one to beat in my book.
