I think I had 700 in college, and I had a roommate. I'd say you can manage in 544. But it's not a lot.

Its on the small side. My last apartment was 1100 ft^2 and 2BR that I had by myself. Was fine for just me but if someone else had been with me it would have been too small. Now I've moved up to a 1650 ft^2 1BR condo. Maybe too much room for me now. 😱

My current single bedroom apartment is only 900 sq ft and I think it is a bit small, although plenty of room for me. I'm here for location and the apartment is otherwise very nice. 544 woudl probably be a bit small, but it may be enough for you.

I almost got an apt that was upwards of 2000 sq feet, if fact probably larger... instead i'm living in a 8,000+ sq foot house, with 28 other people. 😉

anyways 500 sq feet is a bit on the small side.

That's pretty small. Basically one corner of the room is the bedroom, one is the kitchen, one is the bathroom, one is the living room.

It'd do in a pinch and if I wasn't around much. But if it was a primary residence I'd find it pretty constrictive.

My living room in my current home is 500 square feet itself. Once you get used to space it's virtually impossible to go back to anything smaller.

that sounds liveable. My wife and I lived together in a 750 sq ft apartment and it was more than enough. 1 bedroom, loft, study room, and a decent size living room.

We just moved to a 1600 sq foot place and it's alot of space to deal with, but worth it for us. I would have no problems going back to a smaller place but I am kinda enjoying the new space now...
