If the Motherboard/CPU combo is what needs to be compared, then what should I expect from my BH7/2.4B setup? I'm currently at 168fsb 3.03ghz 1.55v(act) with temp of 46C idle/61-62C load. This is with a massive Zalman cnps7000-cu cooler! I even purchased an SLK-900, 92mm tornado package which got higher temps with fan a 5v, and 43C/59C with the Tornado fan in all of its ridiculous dustbuster glory on a 12v socket! With these numbers, the cooling vs. noise factor leaned FAR toward the Zalman which is back in use.
BTW at default speed and voltage the temps were 42 & 56! And yes these temps are with a proper application of AS3. I was worried for a while but as long as I ignore the temp, everything is fine. I have read that ABIT has a problem with their temp readings. Any thoughts?

Those temps qre ~ what I see on my Abit IC7 with a 2.4 @ 3.06 GHz. I use an Alpha 8942 and a Panaflo L1A fan. Abits are well known to read high. I've never had a BH7, but it seems pretty close to the IC7

BTW Oldfart, what kindof 3dmark01 scores do you get on that system. I am curious what difference I would get from the DualchDDR and the 9700 pro. I am currently at 14300 with my rig:

BH7
2.4B at 168fsb 1.55v
OCZ pc3500EL 512mb @ 1:1 c2,5,2,2
GF4 Ti4400 @ 320/640
Antec True430

Thanks for the input.
