Is 42° Celsius for the Case temp too hot?

Just wanna know, cuz my MSI Board tells me, it gets 42° Celsius

First thing you want to do is check the accuracy of your reading. Turn the computer off for a few hours or overnight, then check the reading against known room temp before the computer warms up.

Farenheit=(9/5xCentigrade)+32, so 68-72F=20-22C.

If your reading is accurate, then the case temp(118F) is a little high for a hard working machine, nothing dangerous. Lowering the case temp some would theoretically enhance stability and longevity.

that's ~107F. That is very, very high for case temp.

What is your ambient temp right now(air temp in room?).

My case mobo temp is 28C, and that's pretty hot.

I think it's pretty wrong my mobo temp, cuz, when I put my hand just on the case-side, it's not very hot. It was already lot hotter, and it showed me about 30°, so I think the sensor is wrong......... I hope so

wtf are u talking about, my case temp runs at 36 degrees celcius at full load and at around 30-33 degrees celcius for normal stuff. That is not even close to hot.

36C is close to 100F case temp. That is pretty darn warm, but of course is dependant on your room temp.

Snicker...you guys funny. Trying designing equipment that has to operate in 70deg C ambient temperature (I design aerospace electronics). But, FYI, most commerical grade electronics are rated for 0 to 70 deg C operatingh temp range. Which means, 40 something isn't so bad. But processors are another story.

wait a minute, your tellin me that 28 degrees celcius is hot??!! jeez, what kinda coolin solutions do you guys have, kryotech refigerators??? My comp boots up at around 28 degrees and then rises to like 33-35 degrees max. Is that too hot?? i thought computer components were guranteed to run up to like 60 degrees celcius??? If what your saying is true, i can prove you wrong. I have an 6 or 7 year old comp, with an original voodoo card, soundblaster awe 64, and a 56k modem that is setup up in a room with an average of 80 F. There is only one fan in this comp too, and it has been runnin reliably all day and all night for 7 years!!

28* C is fine, thats only 82* F. Hard to get any better than that here in Florida..

like i said, it depends on your ambient temp.

If your ambient temp is 60F, and your case is running at 100F, then you probably have airflow issues.

If your ambient is 100F, and your case is 110F, then you're fine.
