Is 3.83 GPA bad?

alotta things matter when applying to colleges, gpa is just one of them, but i mean if you want to goto a good college an high gpa is kinda needed

Famous schools = media hype.

Studies have consistently PROVEN that, BY FAR, the most important economic progressor is getting a Masters/PhD. at some school. Of course, getting good grades at your college will be necessary for the advanced degree admission.

Don't worry about the name, get the higher degree. If your parents (the usual suspects) tell you different, they're ignorant.

There were a couple of kids in school/college who would literally shed tears when we got our results. "I was expecting 98/100 but all I got was this lousy 92. I should slit my wrists and jump into a fire coz I fail at life. IMO it depends on what ethnicity you are. If you're a Caucasian male or Asian that GPA is ok, you may not get into your top school unless you do a lot of extra curricular activities.

My sister was in the top 5 students in her class, she had a 4.6something she applied to UC Berkeley and didn?t get accepted. However her Hispanic friend had a GPA in the high 3s and got in.
