There is no such thing, as too much RAM!

I'm seriously considering getting 2GBs myself.

With Konfabulator (those little Widgets eat up loads of RAM!), Windows Blinds, my Wallpaper, AV and a couple of programs I'm usually left with barely over 600MBs...and games like WoW are starting to feel sluggish, often leaving me with less than 20MBs (!!) of physical memory left. So instead of getting rid of the eye candy and such I'll get more RAM. Plus I also do a lot of audio editing and recording and that eats globs of RAM up.

That is so true......yahoo widgets and a few download softwares running in the background sure eats it up.

Maybe you should disable some of that stuff before you use any memory intensive applicaions. I can configure my PC to run on 184-191MB of RAM and with some extreme tweaking I can get it down in the 120MB range (I prefer not to).

Well more RAM is always better, if you ask me. I use a RAID 0 SATA RAM drive for my WXP swap file and to load games into to decrease map loading time on my sys. I am a scientist, so I do actually compute, but I have fun too. 2 GB RAM seems to be min for me, but whatever blows yer dress up...

I've never gotten oblivion over 1GB, (total peak useage) as such there would be no benifit to having more RAM.

BF2 has hit 1.6GB once on singleplayer (64 bots on each side :D ), so having 2GB did help there.

I've never seen my general workhorse PC use over 1GB of RAM, there is no point if you're just surfing the web, running itunes and playing with a little light photoshop etc.

You've got it mixed up as the rest said 2GB is fine for Windows XP.

umm, Actually even though you've never seen it go that high having free extra ram like that makes it faster.
