I thought A&F was for the 13-18 crowd?

My problem with TNF is it's so 90's and like everyone has it, might as well go to Walmart...

Uhm, that is kind of an odd thing to even bring up, it is not like it is covered in outrageous logos or golden dragons and such. I would say it is a perfectly acceptable adult clothing.

If you're not wearing tnf just because it's "90s" then you're just as bad as the op's friend.

dood your friend has clearly have not lived in the new england area. i would not have survived any boston winters without my northface 2 pieces. the apex bionic is clutch too. shit is expensive for a reason. everything else will fade, rip, look ugly after a season. northface goes strong and lasts a few of years of hard use and many washes. columbia stuff is okay, but clearly lower quality than northface. patagonia is top tier - better than northface - but not affordable for me. oh and i'm in my late 20s. there is no "too old" in the face of quality and functionality.

Spyder really? I see ALL the 6 year old kids at my daughters pre-school wearing that. It seems to have become mainstream. When I was in HS, 15+ years ago Spyder was THE cool brand for skiing.

Pretty much. There are places where this stuff is needed. I wear North Face stuff all the time when climbing/mountaineering because it's reasonable cost for function. It's not blowout better than its competition, but they do a fine job of keeping pace.
While we're on the subject of brand wars, Mountain Hardwear stuff holds up far better than any other "outdoor" brand I've used with the possible exception of Arc'Teryx. Honestly though, for what you pay for it, Arc'Teryx shit BETTER last til the end of time.

Zebo wins and you lose.

In any case, it's not like they're designer or anything. They're just a big brand. I guess Dells and Macs are only for college students too.
