Squidman. Dont start that Bullshit about HL coming out in a week again. Its getting old. Its released 30th September. No earlyier. No leaks.
The doom3 alpha is v0.02. Lets not talk about the alpha anymore, or the mods will come prowling.

But alpha version is like a demo, right? This one is VERY buggy, but complete. About HL2 - you might be right BoomAM. We might get a demo. But then again, its the same people i got Doom and WCIII frozen throne from, so i dunno. Well se next Saturday. I hope they're not lying, so i can see a game everybody is so anxious about, to the point, when they dump their money into making their systems "Hl2-ready". I really hope its a full game.

Well I can tell you this from personal experience, I have noticed that in UT2003 and Unreal 2 do in fact run better with FSAA and everything cranked up on my 256M 9800 pro.
I'm not the least bit surprised. Also in-game testing is always better than benchmarks for spotting differences like this but the problem is that a lot of people don't believe the results of the testing.

The alpha version is not like a demo, as we know it. An alpha version of something is a very very early version of a something, that is very imcomplete and buggy. Most alphas are used to show off a game/program to the press.
It WONT be a full version of whatever game your getting off your contacts. It`ll be a incomplete version of it. Not worth getting.

Exactly!, unfortunately it seems to many people are hooked on the whole 3dmark thing. As you say 'in-game testing' is always the best, and if you play a lot of games you 'can' tell the difference. I don't need a benchmark to tell me if it's running faster or better! 😉
