Is 2180% Vitamin C in 1 drink bad for you?

no.

Any excess of vitamin c are usually purge out of your body.

yeah but how? could it stress the kidneys? Considering you can die from too much of anything (including water) I don't see why this would be a good idea.

It certainly isn't going to help you at all...

Vitamin C is usually okay in mega-doses, though you probably shouldn't have one of these things every day.

It's the other vitamins you have to watch. I *think* it's vitamin D that can be fatal if takne in high doses over time. I should remember though... I know someone who almost died from it.

I have a bottle of Vitamin C and each tablet has 1g of Vitamin C which is 1667%. So I don't think it's bad (if you only drink 1)

The excess vitamin C will come out in your urine. I have taken 10,000mg+ of Vitamin C a day with no problems. It actually disinfects your urinary tract, believe it or not.

Overdosing on Vitamin C (which is pretty much what you are doing if you are drinking 2000+% of it) is ok. Nothing bad will happen. There are a few vitamins that you can actualy OD on and get very sick from it. I think its D, E, and K. Or maybe A, E, and K. Not sure. 😛

All vitamins can be fatal if taken in high doses.

Overdosing on vitamins A and E (which are usually fish-oil based, I believe) can have adverse effects on your liver.

I think if you're doing anything strenous, amounts well over the 100% daily value of vitamin C are beneficial. I remember reading an article saying that he helped heal joints faster and keep your body recovering quicker. Remember that the 100% daily values are based on a sedentary person. However, 2000+% should be more than enough for anyone.

Yes, but I think it's D that people manage to overdose on with at least some frequency. Taking handfuls of multi-vitamins is apparently not a good way to keep healthy 😉

How amounts of Vitamin A are very bad for pregnant women.

i think he means it is a waste of money

i don't think there is conclusive scientific evidence that mega doses of vit C do anything beneficial, despite the many claims that is does "good stuff" for you

A, D, E, and K are all fat-soluble. Since they don't flush out quickly like the water-soluble vitamins, you have to be a lot more careful not to take too much.
