Is 2 full days enough to "experience" Las Vegas?

The trip that I'm entertaining actually spans 4 days. One day to fly in (arrive at 10PM) and another day to fly out (leaves 12:30PM). So, I only have 2 full days to explore. Is this enough to check out the sights and sounds along the strip?

Also, would it be worth staying at the Bellagio for the experience? In other words, is it any different staying in Bellagio compared to Harrah's?

Depends what you plan on doing. You can cover the whole strip in 2 days, but most decent shows are at night, so you might only see 2 good shows. If you are talking about hitting a table in each casino, probably possible, but not worth it IMO. I like to just wander around and check everything out.

I've stayed in a Treasure Island Suite and Harrah's normal room, and it was different, but you aren't in the room for most of the trip anyhow, so for me it didn't matter.

6 hours is plenty. Eat a buffet, lose a lot of money, see a show, leave. Those three activities are the entire Vegas "experience".

Two days? Barely enough time to properly "experience" your first two hookers.

My one night in Vegas I stayed at a Motel 6. No one stole my truck so all was good. I got take out at a Persian Restaurant which was pretty good. I went for a bit of a walk but it was too hot to go more than a few miles.

I'm not much of a gambling person, but I'd play a slot machine here and there. I figured 2 Cirque du Soleil shows and checking out the various hotels, shops, and eateries.

I've only been once. I stayed at the bellagio, it was great. I was there 4 days/3 nights, spent 1 day wandering the strip/seeing the other hotels, rest of time mostly spent at bellagio in various restaurants/at the pool/gambling like a madman. It was great. Don't plan to sleep if you'll only be there 2 days.

Interesting. So from what I'm reading, there's a couple of things in the Bellagio that kept you off the strip for most of your trip. I'm still contemplating this because if I go with, say, Harrah's it's only $900 for the whole trip (airfare included). With the Bellagio, it's about $2100.

I stopped at the Las Vegas airport on my way from DFW to San Diego. It was all the Vegas I needed. Played slots (and lost) before the plane took off in 90 mins.

I went for two days exactly. Pretty much walked the strip and checked out a few casinos and stuff. It was OK. Im not a gambler so I wasnt entirely interested myself. It looks all fancy on the outside but the inside of almost all the casinos are the same thing...tables and machines...pretty boring...

Even the shows are THAT cool...mildly entertaining at the most.

Overall, I say its worth checking out if you have a chance too...but I would say its worth paying money to take a vacation there or anything.

There really isn't much to do there. Red Rocks park I guess. Go see Hoover Dam.

I consider the action to be a memorable event and thus make sure it's remembered as one.

Fair enough, I guess if you're only planning to do it once you might as well take the time to do it right. Okay, make it 8 hours instead of 6.

I'd stay at Harrahs....you're not in your hotel room but to sleep, not worth over doubling your cost just to sleep in luxury.

Spend your money gambling and drinking.

If the price difference is that much, then it's not worth it to stay at the Bellagio. Use the cash on activities, like shows, gambling, clubs, etc. The whole point is to get out, not camp out in your room. Harrah's is on the strip and 15 mins stroll from Bellagio, so it's not a matter of location.

Are some hotel attractions only open to guests? For example, is the Bellagio' Botanical Gardens open to everyone?

Yeah, you just have to pay to get in (I believe, never went to the Gardens). I've stayed at the Rio, and NYNY...and I'll go even cheaper next time. Vegas is not a cheap place, everything costs a lot of money....and the goddamn "deals" are not really deals at all.

At least that's my experience, I've only been there 3 times.
