Oh, well there you have it, Case closed.
It kind of makes you wonder just what creates the progressive psyche? How can they believe the continual lies from the pathological liar that occupies the White House? The pathological liar that has fostered the culture within his own regime of lying pathologically? What kind of mindset believes that which any reasonable person knows is not true to be truth?

It's a cancer that needs to be eradicated before it kills the host and it will eventually do so. Afterwards, it will blame the host.

Apparently being a butthurt and desperate teapublican is the prerequisite.

It's just shocking that you're falling in lock step behind Matt's intellectual fail there too. Parrots of a feather...

/double facepalm

Unless you're calling Werepossum a progressive (hardly) and a pathological liar (often) who lives in a white house (?), I believe you just topped Matt as the dumbass of the day. "That is a quote from Werepossum, and he was lying. The Obama administration never made such a claim."

Lame. The important question is do you have the integrity to admit your error -or- are you just going to blow smoke and run away? Show us that you're a better man than Werepossum or Boomerang.

Yes I did mis-read your post. What is lame is the barrage of insults that followed. Is that what you consider intelligent debate?

First, there was only one other person who insulted you. Most were directed at Boomerang who, let's face it, really stupidly doubled down. He earned those insults. Second, not only did you say something dumb, you made it worse by trying to deflect from it. Next time take your lumps, laugh at yourself, and everyone will move on.

Kudos for acknowledging your mistake, however. That puts you well above so many others.

Oh, I don't even see the posts of most of the players in this summer's day political cornucopia of fail train to nowhere so I don't truly know the nature of the ongoing conversation. I just like to express a cage rattling thought from time to time. All derisive posts are like water off a duck's back to me. Anyone who doesn't like what I post should just put me on ignore. Once again, makes no difference to me.

This forum has never and will never solve anything and on a beautiful summer day like today, what difference at this point does it make?

While I think it's great you finally managed to realize your error and then finally owned up to it, the butthurt over being called an idiot is hypocritically weak and totally disingenuous. I've told you this before: don't want to be called an idiot, don't act like one.

I'd also advise cutting straight to the man-up part and skipping your sudden aversion to insults. Unlike the determinations I and others use when calling a spade a spade, somehow I don't think you have such qualifications, unless you'd like to elaborate on how you know other posters to be cock suckers or inbred?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Matt1970 got so owned. Don't you love the faux rage from him for name calling, all the while doing it himself? Glad to see kage69 did such an awesome job of showing his total dishonesty.

Gee Matt1970, you going to apologize for this latest faux outrage? Or do you have some sort of entitlement that you are allowed to insult others, but they can't insult you?

I think part of the issue here is you consider embarrassing yourself to this degree somehow constituting this "rattling of a cage" phenomenon you mention. Other than admitting you're essentially a thread crapping troll, all you've conveyed is that you're fine with being ignorant with what's around you and by golly you're damn proud of it.

I've been here long enough to see this forum do surprising things. Things have been created, perspectives changed. I'm not expecting it to create peace in the Middle East or crowd source the solution to immigration reform. I come because occasionally I see some damn good commentary that keeps me contemplating things for days, even weeks. Good to know how beneath all of it is to you, and despite the time and effort you've put into it this 'political cornucopia of fail train to nowhere' it really couldn't mean less to you.

You are clearly more goose than duck, and doing to this thread what they do to ponds. Bravo.

lol It all depends on what the meaning of the word "is" is. Lerner could merely declare that anything incriminating is not "official records". The White house could declare that it received no emails from anyone whose emails are "lost" merely by redefining the meaning of the term. It's all subjective.

You guys are so incredibly fundamentally dishonest that it's amusing.

Exactly.

Should be obvious this mentality isn't limited to government, for all the differences expressed on this board Werepossum is doing you guys a favor by pointing out the slight of hand that often takes place. Fitting he'd get lambasted!

Even if you don't believe it's taking place in the IRS scandal (Hint: It is) you will find it in other areas of our lives related to business/law/politics as long as you are aware of it.

Orwell points out it as well as anyone regarding "doublethink" and it's definition.
The power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them... To tell deliberate lies while genuinely believing in them, to forget any fact that has become inconvenient, and then, when it becomes necessary again, to draw it back from oblivion for just as long as it is needed, to deny the existence of objective reality and all the while to take account of the reality which one denies – all this is indispensably necessary. Even in using the word doublethink it is necessary to exercise doublethink. For by using the word one admits that one is tampering with reality; by a fresh act of doublethink one erases this knowledge; and so on indefinitely, with the lie always one leap ahead of the truth.

So not limited to government, but pervase in politics, business and law.

Specificaly regarding using private definitions vs what one knows another would use for the definition of words, in a manner to be deceptive and dishonest, which is Werepossum's point:

It is almost universally felt that when we call a country democratic we are praising it: consequently the defenders of every kind of regime claim that it is a democracy, and fear that they might have to stop using that word if it were tied down to any one meaning. Words of this kind are often used in a consciously dishonest way. That is, the person who uses them has his own private definition, but allows his hearer to think he means something quite different. Statements like Marshal Pétain was a true patriot, The Soviet press is the freest in the world, The Catholic Church is opposed to persecution, are almost always made with intent to deceive. Other words used in variable meanings, in most cases more or less dishonestly, are: class, totalitarian, science, progressive, reactionary, bourgeois, equality.

The IRS scandal is a perfect example of this fundamental dishonesty regarding the hard drive crash and recovery attempts and the manner in which information has been brought to investigators attention. The IRS is lying, granted they are being somewhat clever about it. Doesn't need to involve anyone outside the IRS which is distraction at this point, but I'd remain wary of anyone who can't see the deception being perpetuated by the IRS here even if they can't adequately explain it (hint: likely political hack).

This IRS is a huge issue to me. But once Larry, Moe and Curly start doing the tag team routine, the discussion is pretty much over or at the least on pause. When they gang up on the member of their choice arguing what the meaning of the word "is" is, the discussion is put on hold. Now perhaps it starts to get interesting to you at that point because you feel that your team is starting to gain yardage, I don't know. I've got those three on ignore because their posting style is one, always argumentative, two, usually condescending and three, highly repetitive. Now maybe you really enjoy their posts. If that's the case, great.

The "damned good commentary" that you enjoy is still here. If you let my posting style ruin it for you, the onus is on you. If it makes your life more joyful, by all means put me on ignore. If you choose not to do that, just skip over my posts. I've got a number of people that contribute here that I typically never read and certainly don't respond to. We can all do that.

There was a forum created here specifically for serious discussion. It still exists. Anyone is free to start a thread in there. This is the far looser, more casual, let it all hang out forum. Go to DC and get your mind expanded in a totally civil environment. That's what it's there for. If you choose to remain here, IMO you need to go with the flow.

So you had to go back 3 years to find as many insults from me as some of you use on a daily basis? I guess you got me there. And one of those wasn't even me insulting anyone. I guess you just did the same thing I did and misread something. Should I now call you an intellectual failure and a lazy idiot like you called me for something as simple as a misread?
