IRS may label eBay sales as tax revenue

What if I buy something on eBay and sell it at cost or just a tad bit over, then get back a big ass rebate from the manufacturer or retailer on the item? 😀

I like the idea of doing the whole business thing and reporting stuff as a loss (selling old computer stuff certainly qualifies). I've no problem with the IRS assessing taxes on ebay income, especially in regards to powersellers and those who are obviously running a business on ebay.

However, how will they implement this? Only go after powersellers? Everyone? Require ebay to charge sales tax?
