prove he didn't know.

it was already shown that the white house was informed. But as we are learning these past few weeks. Obama knows very little about what anyone working for him is doing.

Ignorance is the defense of the week.

Heh. More of the right wing "prove a negative" that led to the invasion of Iraq. Some people never learn.

The reasons Repubs are all over this like stink on shit are several. First off, it's a distraction from their moral & intellectual bankruptcy, a sop to their outrage addicted & addled base. More importantly, the IRS actions threatened to pierce the veil of anonymity surrounding the "charitable organization" money laundering scheme that astroturfs Tea Party finance.

Where does Tea Party money come from? From "charitable organizations". Where does their money come from? Other "charitable organizations". Where does that money come from? They don't have to say, and they want to keep it that way.

Why is that?

deflect, deflect, deflect.

The facts at hand show the IRS targeted conservative groups for additional screenings that liberal groups were not.

The facts at hand show the white house was informed.

The facts at hand show that multiple offices over multiple states all targeted the same groups.

And yet the lib's claim there was nothing political about this. And that the white house did not know, even though all around them people knew. And knew for years.

And asshole libs like you actually defend the practice of using the IRS as a political weapon. If the GOP did anything on a similar scale you'd be going apocalyptic.

If nothing comes of this, and no changes were made. Then you should be ready for when the GOP is back in power to have the same shit to happen to your side.

They lied to Congress to delay inquiries till after the election and you want to pretend that Obama didn't know anything about it? Is this the new version of plausible deniability?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plausible_deniability

Who lied? The IRS commissioner or someone from Obama's administration? They aren't the same thing, so let's not try to blur the lines to make them seem that way.

And it didn't delay the inquiry until after the election. The investigation was already happening during the 2012 election, but there was no preliminary report of the findings from the IG until 2013. This information is from the NY Times link you provided.

Edit: You're talking about the congressional inquiry, I guess. If that's the case, the IRS commissioner did delay that by apparently lying to Congress (though he still denies he was lying). To say he was doing that on Obama's orders is a bit of a stretch without some sort of evidence that Obama had even been informed.

No, we cannot draw the conclusion this was politically targeted. It is also quite possible this was the result of an ill-considered shortcut.
"Ill-considered shortcut"

And not lies, but...

"plausible alternative explanations"
or
"handled communications poorly"

I'm beginning to see a trend in your posts...

I'm very impressed by the speed at which conservatives were able to twist their opinion on a war that killed hundreds of thousands of people. It went from "you're a traitor of you're against it" to "you can't change horses midstream" to "god, why do you keep bringing that up?"

There was a vote in the Senate that allowed the invasion to happen, if you recall.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/onpolitics/transcripts/senaterollcall_iraq101002.htm
Following is an alphabetical listing by state of how each senator voted on President Bush's Iraq resolution. A "yes" vote was a vote to grant President Bush the power to attack Iraq unilaterally. A "no" vote was a vote to defeat the measure. Voting "yes" were 29 Democrats and 48 Republicans. Voting "no" were 1 Republican, 21 Democrats, and 1 Independent.

Hillary Clinton, Harry Reid, John Kerry, Chuck Schumer, Jay Rockefeller, Dianne Feinstein, Joe Lieberman, Chris Dodd are among the more recognized (D) names.

Yes and their decision was based on false intelligence, the bush admin even pushed the false info to Britain to give it some more credibility. I especially like how the Bush admin paid retired generals to go on tv shows to help push their narrative.

Of course the right always forgets about that. Its always shame on democrats for voting based on false intelligence but it's never shame on the Bush admin for supplying that false intelligence.

Right wing rule #1- never examine your own headset. Go with the truthiness. Believe what you want to believe.

Prove there are no WMD's in Iraq.

Prove that Obama didn't know what the IRS was doing.

Same shit, different day.

Oh that's right. Just like Obama ..'you don't know' anything else.

I'm sure there's a "plausible alternative explanation" for why 100% of the conservative groups took more than 24 months to process whereas 90% of the liberal groups had theirs approved in less than 12 months...

You challenge people to defend against an allegation that hasn't been proven or even acknowledged as plausible. Good one.

You sound just like his Press Secretary Carney that said even though the head of the IRS admitted it and apologized for it, it doesn't mean it really happened. Maybe you're shopping for a new job since Carney lost all his meager credibility with the press with that claim.

I think you're taking the new laws in Colorado about weed too seriously dude.

Feeling the need to duh-vert, huh? Of course you are. It's what Righties do instead of questioning what they believe.

It's the essence of Truthiness!
