Had my new rig for about a month now. Just starting BSODS with the above messages. Googled and found out it could be any number of things. One of the more common was sound driver errors. That made since because I just bought Barracuda headphones with plug and play drivers (didn't come with a cd) and it may have messed something up. So I re-installed my sound drivers. But just last night it crashed again with the same message. Another Google revealed that it could be my Nvidia GTS 512 overheating or the drivers. I've been using nTune to lock the fan @ 65% regardless of what I'm doing, so heat isn't the issue. So I checked and sure enough my drivers could be updated. So I updated for 169.21 to 169.28. Another post suggested it was my memory running hot but I checked after a BSOD and it wasn't even warm. My Antec 900 case keeps everything cool.
So after doing all that, I didn't have any more BSODs last night, but if I have another one to night I'm not going to know where to start. I tried following some advice to unscramble my error codes and read my minidump file that would point to the problematic driver, but I couldn't get to the right folder. Is there anything else I should check? Should I run Prime and memtest again to check for erros? Get rid of the headphones?
