I'm running WinXP Pro, and I was going through some very basic "tweaks". I noticed that the device manager shows that I have loads of devices sharing IRQ 9. Basically everything on the PCI bus in addition to my video card (AGP), my Promise ATA/100 controller, and two USB controllers. (I have an ASUS A7V133)
Isn't is bad to have so many devices on the same IRQ?
I have plenty of free IRQs... 3,4,5,7,10,11 & 12 are all unused.
I was told that ACPI is repsonsible for the IRQ sharing but my BIOS doesn't seem to have any mention of that. (No place to turn ACPI off as far as I can see.)
Any suggestions? Thanks for reading.
