My friend is having a very annoying problem, and we believe that the root of it is and IRQ conflict. The problem is only noticable in games (and all games I might add). The games will randomly crash, sometimes 10 seconds in, something 20 minutes. The system has been stress tested, and he's updated all of his drivers (video/sound/wireless).
At first it used to report ERROR CAUSED by device driver, now it says nothing. We figured out that his video card (specs below) and wireless card are sharing the same IRQ address. He noticed that by disabling the process utilized by the wireless card, the games didn't crash. Faulty card? No, it was used before to perfection, so we've ruled that out. I'm wondering if anyone has good links/info on IRQ conflicts and fixing them, or if anyone could help share some thoughts/tips on the problem.
He's tried uninstalling the wireless (from device manager), booting without it, reinstalling. The next step is reformatting, but I'm wondering about input before we try that.
Also, he's using the same equipment as me (minus the wireless), so I've ruled out compatibility errors.

System Specs :
DFI LanParty NF4 Ultra-D
OCZ Plat Rev 2 1 gig
ATI x800xl
SB Audigy 2
Linksys Wireless card
520watt OCZ powerstream PSU

Thanks in advance, any help = awesome.

What operating system? If it's windows XP it is very very unlikely to be an IRQ conflict..have you tried putting the wireless card in a differant PCI slot?

Yup, I had a huge problem with this. And after reading your op, i knew it was the sound card.

For me, there's only 1 PCI slot in my comp that will work, other wise all games I play will freeze.
