My scsi, video, sound, modem, etc. have all been forced to irq 9 in w2k. I have an asus cusl2-c motherboard and I have set the irq's manually in the bios, but they get overriden when w2k starts up. Is it the acpi stuff that is reassigning the irq's? Won't my performance suffer with all the cards using the same irq? How can I fix it?
Thanks.

Don't be surprised - W2K through with co-usage of ACPI is using VIRTUAL IRQ's - that's why everything seems to be hanging of IRQ 9.

Install W2K without ACPI, and you won't see this.

Either way, you should be OK really :).

Yes.

No.

Unless you encounter problems, there's no need to fix it. If you do however encounter problems you can change the HAL to reflect no ACPI, but this is discouraged by both M$ and many users of 2k including myself. Some people will tell you it works and I'm sure it does, but it's not designed to change like that.

If you want to properly disable ACPI, you'll need to reinstall 2k without ACPI.

There are a TON of threads on this very issue, if you search the forum i'm sure you'll find any further instructions
