The first 300 series IBM thinkpad:300

The first 700 series IBM thinkpad700

Can you believe that a 300 series laptop from 1992 (300 series is the cheap model) could have integrated lan while a 700 series of the same era doesn't? (700 series is high end)

What gets worse... It isn't until the year 2000 when the IBM T20 comes out that we see integrated lan on a laptop agian. T20

See any mistakes in this post, feel free to correct them...
Otherwise, I just think this is probably the dumbest thing I've seen, a 300 series laptop from '92 with integrated lan, yet the 700 from that same year no integrated lan nor is there any until the year 2000........

i think cuz they don't integrate stuff into their laptops until they are rock solid. i mean they have the best track record for not breaking on you (system and physically) there are some interesting stories on how they have been dropped several floors, burned, and run over (ibm website).

/just my opinion

Hmmm... I opened the thread but didn't find any irony.

You and Alanis must be soulmates or something...

Nope, you simply don't understand all of the definitions of irony. Definition 2a: "Incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs".

You expect a hjgh-end laptop to have integrated LAN and a low-end laptop won't have it. That isn't the case. This is the perfect definition of irony.

Too bad you and so many others on ATOT mistakenly think irony only is defintion #1. Remember, you are MathMan, not WordMan. At least 95% of posts with the word "irony" in the title have people like you try to prove something by only using definition #1.
