I loved Iron Man, but I have to say....I don't really like the way they went with this for the sequel, with Stark openly admitting to being Iron Man, and all that appears to entail.

Probably will still be a good movie, though.

We knew that's how it was going to be after the 1st movie... And wasn't he known as well in the comics?

Not until more recently. Prior to that, Iron Man was always referred to as Stark's bodyguard or another story (hence the cover story reference at the end of IM1).

I loved the first one and normally these superhero movies are overrated crap. However, I'm really concerned about this one. Not exactly sure why, but I am. Maybe it's the bad guy he seems really weak. I mean whips, I hope he has something else.

The trailer pretty much confirmed what I though was going to be the likely progression of Whiplash/Rourke based on previous trailers and information. He was going to attack Stark on the racetrack, Stark dons an Iron Man suit and then kicks Whiplash's butt. Whiplash then teams up with Hammer to build a better suit for not only himself but Hammer too. (Based on the trailer, he builds AI armor for Hammer). Whiplash then double-crosses Hammer yadda yadda yadda.

What we haven't seen so far is how Whiplash upgrades his own personal stuff.

The whole thing looks like it sets up the Armor Wars IMHO. Though I'm curious to see if any more Mandarin references are made in this one.

I think LOTR: Two Towers is on par with the first movie, and Return of the King was the best of the 3. I found them all to be awesome, and it's more of an exception than the rule for a movie series to be that good.

I really don't see LOTR:TT and LOTR:ROTK as sequels, but all three movies as just a single movie cut into three parts.

LMAO...I still laugh about my Dad's reaction to the end of Fellowship. He paused the movie right at the end when Frodo and Sam are looking over to Mordor to take a break for the bathroom, drinks, etc. He came back and started the movie back up and was like, "Wait? That's the end?"

yeah, whiplash. a guy w/no long range attack nor can he fly.

i'm thinking this movie's going to be sucking unless new info comes out.

like a 2nd villian is actually iron man's challenge, and whiplash is for the black Widow?

Like I said above, I don't think all of Whiplash has been revealed. Rourke's character name is Vanko who was the original Crimson Dynamo in the comics. So, I think there's more to be seen of what he turns out to look like. All we've seen so far is the initial race track attack which would be akin to the first armor in the Afghan caves of Iron Man 1.

Know it sounds weird but I thought Iron Man was really good but don't really want to see a sequel for it. Also wish they kept Terrance Howard :( - Don Chedale is good but it's always weird when movies change roles in sequels and just expect no one to notice.

Don't worry, I'm sure there will be a sappy romantic comedy or two out at the time for you to watch.

can't wait for it. its called Iron, Woman! a man's quest to get his shirt as wrinkle-free as possible :-/

And Xmen 2. I'd argue that for comic book movies the sequel is almost always better then the first movie.

Yeah, but the third one usually sucks.

Generally, for comic book series the first movies are good, but dragged down by the origin story, the second kicks ass because they keep everything the same and don't have to give the hero's origin, but the third is messed with by the studios & goes off the rails.

Superman 1 = good. Superman 2 = AWESOME! Superman 3 = Richard Pryor, WTF????
Xmen 1 = good. X2 = BETTER! X3 = Brett Rattner? NOOOOOOOOOOO!
Spiderman 1 = good. Spidey 2 = Much Better. Spiderman3 = Too many villains & Emo Peter Parker.
Blade 1 = good. Blade 2 = better. Blade 3 = should have gone direct to dvd.

Black Widow is usually protrayed as much younger than her abilities would allow her.

She doesn't age that fast.

I associate Black Widow with a kick ass bass driver from Peavey. :D

At 45 going on 25 I like to believe that I'm not aging too fast either. ;)

RE: Iron Man coming out public...

I agree! It's akin to Clark Kent telling everyone he's Superman on TV. Of course everyone would laugh at him! :awe:

Stark came out in public in the comics. I think the public then got him a new heart or something like that.
