Iron Man 2: Disappointing *Some SPOILERS*

I just came back from watching it and I throughly enjoyed it. I think the first hour was really good and set the scene for character development.

It somewhat aggravates me when people want nothing but action in movies - that is nothing but a recipe for disaster, or Michael Bay.

People say they want action and lots of it, so Bay decides to make Transformers 2 which had a good deal of action and very little of anything else, then they complain.

So then a movie comes out with a good plot, good character development, good dialogue and good action, yet people still complain. Some people just have to complain about something.

the iron man suit when tony was getting drunk at his birthday was of limited visual appeal.

people want action.. but action is worthless unless we care about who wins;

so make me care just enough to feel excited when the action starts.

I found this scene hilarious and very fitting for what he was going through personally. Did you miss the scene beforehand that led to this?

I love the scene... I'm just saying that RDJ in the Suit looked a little 'off'. I love how he's fighting his inner demons and especially how i KNEW he had to have let his friend have access.

and yea, i had to go take a leak just before that: I'd just watched iron man 1 at the theater before that and had way to much soda.

You missed the scene where he asked Scarlett Johansson a question and she gave him a good answer. That was the reason for him wearing the suit and getting drunk then acting even more crazy.

Came back from it and LOVED IT. humor, action, scarlett johhanson.

ya he asked her, "what would you do if this was your last birthday"

and she said something like " I would do what I want with whoever I want and not care about what happens"

I disagree with your opinion of it being longer than it need to be. The length to me was just right, it just felt longer due to the numerous dragged out back and forth sequences between Pepper and Tony.

That is more or less what I meant. Two hours is fine, it just was dragging along at times. By no means to I think two hours is too long.

So basically:
1. You paid to see it.
2. You're planning on buying the blue-Ray.

I think that means you liked the movie.....

1. I pay to go watch a lot of movies, how do you know you are going to like or dislike a movie before going to watch it?

2. Where did I say I was going to buy the blu-ray?

I never said the movie was bad, I was just some what disappointed with parts.

*** Has some spoilers ***

I thought it was a fun movie and there were plenty of great lines in it. Some of it makes a little more sense when you consider that Tony Stark in the comics was also in a bit of a... disarray with all the drinking and Pepper marrying the driver (although this movie is possibly leading to something else?) Even after he got his new heart, he still never got "better."

Oh gee....someone on ATOT saying an anticipated movie is not good because while watching it did not use holograms to feed you steak and mashed potatoes, give you a free Ferarri for buying a ticket, and the seats did not give automatic hand jobs.

This is SHOCKING news, I tell you!

It really isn't very good.

Oh, for those of you who didn't stay until the very end of the credits for the extra scene; you missed Agent Coleman traveling around in the desert excavating Thor's hammer.

Some of the best movies I have seen recently have been big, modern Hollywood blockbusters. The Dark Knight, Wall-E, Up!, District 9, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and Avatar. If you didn't think a single one of those was good then you have terrible taste in movies.

Not gonna lie, this movie was better than Avatar.

But then, Avatar was shit. All the pretty visuals in the world can't save a repackaged Pocahontas movie with laughably awkward dialogue/acting and far too heavy-handed environmentalist message. I was literally cringing in my seat at parts.

It was disappointing, but enjoyable...if that makes sense. Maybe enjoyable since I didn't pay to see it 😀 (dr pepper free tickets)

Then again, I don't like Superhero movies too much, but I did like Iron Man 1 a lot more than 2. Rourke had about 2 lines and Rockwell didn't stop talking the whole movie (I guess that was the point, trying to make him annoying).

Scarlet Johanson gives the movie +20 points. Hotness! I like Paltrow and Downey Jr also.

Definitely disappointing though, for some reason I always knew the sequel wouldn't be good.

all these superhero movies are starting to blend together... feels like the same movie is getting released every couple months with different costumes.

That's a matter of opinion. I thought it was mediocre.

I agree with PhoKingGuy here. I seriously doubted this movie would be as great as the first one but to say this movie is less than good, you just need to quit watching comic action movies.

Good plot
Good character development
Good dialogue
Good action

It had all these. Again, these were good, not great.

Please don't see Thor or The Avengers when they come out as I don't want you to have Lord of the Ring expectations for an action movie based on a comic book.

Its not supposed to be like forrest gump or something. Its a comic action movie, you sit down, turn your brain off and gawk at it. You have Scarlett Johanssen in skin tight leather and Gweneth Paltrow looking hot and have RDJ acting like a badass with a bitchin ride and all the toys a geek could ever want.

What else could you want from a movie like this?

One good thing I will say about the movie is that they didn't try to pull that last minute 3D bullshit. 3D sucks, especially when they add it after they filmed the movie (ie clash of the titans)
