I've become an addict of sorts to the show. I watch it all the time, even taped shows. Cooking has been taken to a whole new level in my home. Anyone else enjoy the show, or at least knows of it?

I love that show...wish they had more European and American chefs on there though. That's what I'd really like to see...two different disciplines from different sides of the world, battling it out 😉

HAHAHA thsi show is hilarious... i watched it once, must say its interesting.. they are wayyy to serious about cooking their food

Cheers to you for actually learning something 🙂

I just watch it and marvel at the stuff they make...just don't have the drive to try to make any of it 🙂

"fukizan! whats in that pot? ohhh it foi-gra, horse fat, fish oil, garlic, scalions, $500 peaches, a salt only harvested under a full moon, and some truffles. ohhhh ahh its like a fluffy cloud on a sunny day"

<< I liked it when no one knew about it >>

Yes...and I liked it when it was in the original Japanese... I guess I'm just more cutting edge 🙂

Of course. 😀😀

THe females on the tasting panel(gaahh must...not....joke) annoy the crap out my me most of the time..

Female: HEE HEE HEE HEE, this is wondeful! It is dacning so elegantly across my taste buds and swirling down my throat like fine, aged wine! It makes me feel like a warm summer breeze, drifting through the...er..what? I ate the napkin? Oops...

You gotta figure that their voices are dubbed though...I'm sure they don't sound like that much like airheads in real life 🙂

Ya figure that one out all by yourself? 😉

What in the heck is foi-gra?

<< it's foie gras. foie gras = goose or duck liver. it's haute cuisine. btw, i love Iron Chef. >>

omg guys!!! we have the national speeling bee champion! thank you soo much for correcting my spelling!

The Iron Chef is one of the 2 things that I watch on TV. The show is so damn great. Have you guys seen the one where the aprentance is cooking and his teacher is getting drunk? He starts helping out and the judges say something like "Uh... maybe its just me, but I dont think he is allowed to help" then the apretance messes up and the teacher smacks him really hard.

Original Japanese version was better. More cooking, less BS.

Best was guest chef picking house chef to challenge<camera zoom here>

You bet...I almost fell for it too...but I studied her mouth in about 20 episodes and then came to the conclusion that too many of the sounds didn't match the motion of her mouth. I thought about selling out to the British tabloids but I let her keep her precious secret 🙂

<< safron powder.

$2000/lb

Can't spell

most expensive ingredient

Not true. I've seen them use actual gold flakes on the show before :Q

But I didn't see anyone actually eat the flakes 🙂

ive seen them use pure bred choclate labs, 2k per paw, that was the best show, pretty freaky when they put some live puppies in the pressure cooker and some in a saltpack that went into the oven.
