Ireland fishermen to stop a Russian Navy excercise

Red Squirrel

No Lifer
There are reports that they have sent a fishing ship from Bandon to go intercept the Russian military. When the ship captain tells it's crew it's a Bandon ship, they are all going to panic and jump out in life vests and the Irish will be able to take over the ship.

I wonder if the plight of Russian fisherman had anything to do with this, maybe some cold water solidarity of sorts?

If the original location was meant to send a signal to the West, what signal does backing down from Irish fisherman send?

It does take nuts to stand up like that, especially when you're a civie and your country has a Navy of eight vessels.

Naval exercises.
