I go into Android channels all the time. Having it be browser based is nice. I have 3 or 4 channels open in one tab.

For starters, its mostly in a java window now, not mIRC, since its no longer 1998. But srsly freenode is an awesome network for IT folk. #electronics, #zipit, #drupal, #windows-server, #linux, #debian.
 
Twitter, might be an advance on the IRC concept. Nobody on IRC is going to join multiple channels, because they will become overwhelmed.

Twitter, allows you to join multiple people.

I have my own bot here. Come join if you wanna talk. It's my friend's channel for talking about sports/basketball/jumping but we talk about everything ( and my bot stores pics of pr0n/girls, notes, etc )
 
We used to have #atot on DALNet. Right now it seems that nobody is in there but me and elwood. 🙁 There were some good times in that channel a while back.
