IRC, yes or no?

Well, topic says it.
Been doing it for years. Since Efnet started.
Wanted to know if it caught on much.

I've chacked it out, but I find it to have too many kids on it complaining or channels with tons of ppl, but no one talking....

Needless to say, I didn't like it🙁

Yeah I like it, I was on IRC way before the split came, now I´m on EUNET (IRCNet EU)

Yea, EFnet is almost toast.
Its splits more then a 2 dollar hoes legs 😉
Its supposed to be disbanded in a few months.

Of course the main reason is not for chat.
But it works for cheap communication between me and the GF in canada.

As you can see, I'm on both EFnet and dalnet.....I think the kiddies moved on to dalnet, for it splits way more often (and worse) than efnet does now. Also, services suck ass.

 

Hotline is like a napster client.
Its peer to peer I believe, you can chat like irc and send files back and forth. I believe you can search as well.

EFnet is going to be disbanded, dalnet = whack 😉

I think my days may be numbered.
Im too lazy to go back and organize more channels and such.

Wanted to see who on anandtech uses a true chat client 😉

I mainly go on it to get some Unreal Tournament games going or talk to the #teamanandtech peeps.

is xircon not a real client? I know it's not exactly in active development, but there are some (read: one) awesome scripts for it.
