does anyone know the scrip so that i can find out someones IP without having to get them in a chat or file transfer?

It depends on the server. But you shouldnt need a script. A simple /dns will do it, unless the server cloaks that. But just like the aol question on the same topic, I cant think of a legitimate reason to need this information.

Nope. /whois will give you a hostname, but if he wants ip address he will either have to nslookup the host or /dns the user. Basic IRC commands here.

That's strange. It's always given me the full IP address.

Its not strange, it depends on the IRC server. Some admins enable the cloaking option, some dont.

a lot of new and smaller nets hide the IP. There's a reason for that.. if you want their IP you're gonna have to ask, otherwise you're out of luck

because its my cousin and he stole my nick cuz i had registered it on his laptop :p:D

Not a good enough reason. Just take out the /24 or give him a call. Taking out the subnet is fun, but telnetting into a soho router of an irc spammer, changing the admin password and disabling the network is more fun :D
