Is there a site that explains how to get into IRC and what software to get and what to avoid?

Thanks

I tried 3 browsers and the page did not display correctly in any of them. In fact it was unbearably bad, so I doubt that is worth my time.

Bestest.
Stop using mozilla or konqueror :p

I tried it with Mozilla, Chimera, and lynx. It displayed as HTML all three times.

Almost perfectly. But if someone cant put up a standards compliant page, how can I trust the code to their program.

And it is a script, for mIRC. Only script I have found that makes mIRC not suck as much is ircN.

Its sloppy. Too many bugs and vulnerabilities since I started using it. Too big and bloated. Limited to one platform.

Invision is what a noobie IRC would want to start off at. It has a lot stuff already configured and it gives some protection to the user.

Fserves are also easy to use with the GUI instead commands.

I recommend trying Invision.

Never had a problem with it...newest version is pretty nice IMO...then again, I don't use it for warez and crap, so I'm not too concerned about vulnerabilities

I dont use it for file transfers, warez, or porn. But I dont know what that has to do with vulnerabilities.

I have no fear of malicious intrusions, consider myself pretty secure, and I'm on dialup ;)
