I just have to wonder what the heck they were thinking. I mean it looks like they tried to drive broadside across the kill zone for two hardened bunkers with overlapping fields of fire.

kinda suprising that with the number of cameras there are over in iraq that there is not more footage like this.

Please refer to them as Insurgents, because the majority of the fighters are from foreign nations out side of Iraq's border, mainly Iran.

I suppose given the choice I would hope the Americans wouldn't die. That doesn't mean these people deserved to die. Its an unfortunate situation all around. They're fighting against a foreign occupying power, would you not do the same thing?

Its tragic what is happening there. To both sides. And to post some video and cheer the deaths of a bunch of people is immature at best.
 
Im glad they were thwarted and none of our service men/women were hurt or killed. However i do empathize with efforts. If a strong muslim country invaded the US and tried to instill a theocracy at gunpoint i would be pissed and may be one of those dead fools.

edit: i dont expect many in OT to understand my perspective.

Yes, they are humans. There are two scenarios here:

They are Iraqi insurgents. In which case they are completely justified in fighting an occupying power (even many of our own troops will acknowledge this). If the Chinese came and wanted to set up their style of government and liberate us from Bush, would you greet them with flowers and candy? I think they are better off joining our side but you can't blame them for feeling that way.

They are al Queda insurgents. In which case they are likely extremely poor people without an education who were easily brainwashed. In the culture and environment they live it is easy to buy into terrorism. While a dead murderer is better than a living one, the fact that they had to be killed due to the situation over there is a sad one and I will not cheer for it. Its like putting your sick dog to sleep. While it is for the best, it is also not a cause for celebration. You are sick if you take pleasure in the death of another human being.

Most (99.9%) Iraqi people support our troops.

Or the most likely scenario: They were sent in by the Iranian government to attack US forces. . Hundreds of their soldiers have been captured after engaging US forces.
