For Faez, life under Saddam was living paranoia. "I didn't even trust my children," he said. "Teachers would ask them, 'What do you talk about at home? What does your father say about Saddam?'"

And if anything was perceived to be negative, "They could shoot you," he said. When one son was recruited for terror school at 14, Faez says he sent him away to live with relatives.

"Many people disappeared into prisons and families don't know what happened to them," he said.

Nice to see the Iraqi people be able to speak their mind isn't it Fabio? Who gave them that right?

The man carrying the card is not serious of course, if that were true Bush would have had his family raped and killed....

The ones that profited from Saddam hate bush, the others that lived under his tyranny praise bush.

...that's what you would like to believe, but how do you plan to substantiate your claim?

Who else could be happy under Saddam? Do you know what kind of terror they experience? Their children can be sent to prisons and tortured... along with them and anyone else in the country, their wives can be raped at the whim of Saddam's inner-circle, their sons have been forced to join armed services at extremely young ages, their fathers forced to fight for Iraq or his family killed... all while the oil for food isn't working properly and people are starving so Saddam can build his 1000th presidential palace.

no doubt, I'm sure some people in Iraq benefited greatly during Saddam's rule. They're the ones who's protesting now that they don't have that edge anymore.

I think they would prefer their dictator over a US puppet government.

Ok, look into the eyes of your mother, your father, your wife, your brothers/sisters, and your children. If you can still believe that Saddam's regime is better then what we have in the USA I don't think there is anyway to help you. Hopefully your dream to live in a third world country run by a dictator as cruel as Saddam can be achieved so you can see how foolish you look for saying such things.

I just looked into the eyes of all my relatives, and frankly I'm starting to feel a little sick. BTW I didn't see anywhere in his post where he said he wanted to "in a third world country run by a dictator as cruel as Saddam".

I have been awake for over 48 hours, I read "I think they would prefer their dictator over a US puppet government" as "I would prefer their dictator over a US puppet government". :p

Most of my argument still stands though, the reasoning is slightly stretched though. Now you're assuming they would rather suffer then have a puppet government. The only way I see this is a valid argument is if they hold their pride over their well being, because then at least they would feel as if they had control over their country. Then I thought to myself.... wait, they don't have control over any of their country with Saddam in power either.

I won't try to assume whether or not they would rather suffer or have a puppet government. It seems you are already assuming the government that will be instituted will be a puppet US government though.

Your pictures are 6 days older then mine. Looks like you're the one running out of things to say. I'm just getting started. You're only making it look worse for yourself.

Thanks for making that so easy.

Well, the Iraqis sure are thinking that might be the case.

Hundreds of protesters blocked U.S. Marines from entering Kut's city hall Tuesday to meet a radical anti-American Shiite cleric who has declared himself in control here, military officials said.

About 20 Marines from Task Force Tarawa decided against trying to enter the building after being confronted by 1,200 protesters, said Lt. Col. Jean Malone, deputy operations officer for the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade.

The protesters were shouting "No, No Chalabi!" -- referring to Ahmed Chalabi, the leader of the Pentagon-backed Iraqi National Congress opposition group.

Good try Flavio,

I think this mans thoughts also prove my point...

"I'm 49, but I never lived a single day. Only now will I start living," Yussuf Abed Kazim, a mosque preacher, said as he whacked away, knocking tile and concrete off the pedestal. "That Saddam Hussein is a murderer and a criminal."

I would consider what happened in Baghdad on NATIONAL TV more than enough for you anti war people to shut up...

I guess i was wrong..

You just cant seem to handle how well the war is going. Weapons will surface, and the Iraqi people are free...
