- They say they don't have any weapons of mass destruction.

- Saddam apologizes for the invasion of Kuwait.

Wow, imagine that. A government that apologizes for its mistakes. It'd be nice of others could follow suit.

Few of us will get through twenty thousand pages of Arabic, so it won't be too difficult to call the whole thing a hoax. We must not allow Saddam to derail our oil grab with possible extraneous facts. Fortunately Saddam also has a credibility problem so I think it's safe to say that we can dismiss the report out of hand even after not reading it.

Big surprise, i wonder if there is any proof in the 12000 pages of documentation he provided.

Moonbeam summed it up fairly nicely.

Saddam must go - his people obviously want a western-style democracy enough to let us do it for them.

That appology is also a joke. If the guy was sorry the least he could do is read it off himself on tv instead of getting one his his ass ministers to do it. How sincere

I haven't checked all of the news reports. Is there any mention of the 600 missing Kuwaitis yet?

Statements like that are ludicrous without solid backing and support. He has none. It also ignores the past 12 years of Iraq lies and then admitting to having banned weapons or the backing of Iraq for Palestinian terrorists and so forth. But that doesn't fit into his way of seeing the world so he conveniently ignores it.

Somebody please tell me why we dont give our "facts" about Iraq to the weapons inspectors so we dont have to play the waiting game.

Maybe because we don't have any?

Or maybe because it is not time to show our hand.

Assuming that we actually have evidence, doesn't President Bush think that every single American citizen...not to mention the entire world populace...is wondering this exact thing?

Oh well, the function of government is partually to boost morale at home in times of crisis and to spread proproganda ideas. Making some kinda report gives Iraq some small footing in creditbility, makes everyone at home pretty happy.

I guess he just wants to apologize to Kuwait, I guess they need allies. But remember, Sadamn was funded by the US to fight the Iranians at one time...

Because weapons inspections in the past have not worked well. It is hard to make surprise visits when the inspections team has been bugged or infilitrated.

Actually before the inspections even began we offered to give them intelligence we had gathered as well as live feeds from outr Predator drones as they flew over Iraqi sites and followed Iraq truck convoys as they left suspected weapons sites. The U.N. refused saying that would make it appear as if they were working for the U.S.

Hans Blix was also was about the 25th pick on the US list of who should be in charge of inspections.
