Iraq reporting on their side that we are in control of NO cities!!!

Nocturnal

Lifer
Is this all propaganda or could it be at least somewhat true?

What's you take on this and is it just so that the Iraqis will try and continue to fight?

As long as they have the populace believing that Saddam is still in power and in control they feel that they don't have to worry about uprisings. They know that as soon as the populace realizes that Saddam and the regime are gone/powerless, they are fvcked.

The populace is still afraid of the current regime. Some 50,000 shia were killed in souther iraq after the gulf war when they tried to oppose saddam. So I am sure the populaiton is wary of rallying against saddam at this point. In the meantime the men and boys are forced to fight at gunpoint. So as soon as we mop up the remaining fedayeem (sp?) militia, the sooner we can actually say we are in control.

Yeah, they're so desperate to win this thing it's pitiful. I'm suprised that they haven't tried using bio/check weapons yet. We know they must have them hence finding all those brand new suits.

Nobody here knows anything. We will have to wait and see. All these people who think they know what the people of Iraq think and will do are deluded. They operate on fear and need certainty to ward of the evil eye.

Yeah...on the news this morning, on NBC, the reporters were saying that while the cameras were on, the civilians would whoop against the U.S. and praise Saddam. When the cameras were not on, the truth was revealed. That they are afraid of Saddam and if seen on TV welcoming the coalition forces, their families would be killed.

Think about how that sounds?? They are so desperate to win this thing it is pitiful?? It is pitiful that they won't give up without a fight? And you make fun of the French for surrendering. We are going to win, thier is no question of that, but they have obviously decided to make a fight of it. I can respect that.

I saw this on one of the blurbs on the news.

An Iraqi woman that waved at coalition troops was hanged by the Iraqis.
