"Instead of being a flamebaiter" why don't you try sticking to the subject? Or is trying to turn everything into a Bush-bash your agenda here?

Well he is too partisan to realize that it was the US that put the iraqi police force in place and provided their training.

Yep. Do you think the Iraqi's would have Camelbacks, good body armor, etc. if we hadn't trained and equipped them. It's too bad that they've been passive to this point.

Yes, I was a tad disappointed in the level of help from the Iraqi people against the terrorists and such who were killing mostly Iraqis in their attacks. I'm sure there are plenty who did, but it wasn't reported much. It may have been an occupation mindset that hurt their cooperation since we were being looked to for the security instead of demanding that they take more responsibility for their security. I happen to think that we needed to keep pounding that fact into their head but I never saw much from us on that. These people haven't had to do that before - they didn't have freedom to protect before so may not have fully realized how much was expected of them with their freedom.

Anyway - it's good to see a more proactive Iraqi security force.(but again I don't want to diminish or take away from those Iraqis who were doing such from day one.)

You do realize that that part of town is known for being filled with gangs, right?

For some reason I don't think you do...

So, when does the torturing...err...hazing...blowing off steam...etc..start?

😛

Ohhh...well than they must all be criminals. I mean they were in a "gang filled area"...why else would they be there if they weren't criminals right?

It's like Skull and bones man. Gang filled, ohhhh, scary stuff. We have 140,000 troops in Iraq (not counting 20,000 hired guns), Baghdad is the center of our ops there, yet gangs are running things? Great job Rummy.

I'm not saying that all of them are automatically criminals but considering that gangs pretty much control that section of town, it's not surprising that that many were arrested. Don't go assuming they are all innocent because that's complete bullsh!t. Every Iraqi in Baghdad knows that's a bad section of town.

You can't expect us tear down the entire infrastructure of a country and rebuild it 100% within a year and a half. There are millions of people in Baghdad, expecting us to keep everybody in line would be absurd. Hell Saddam couldn't even keep that section of Baghdad secure; it's been a sh!thole for years.
