Iraq truly is asking for it now; they must know that if they don't sign based on a new UN resolution the US will attack them. That's quite unquestionable. link

Saudi will not be attacked though ;)

He is in the Air Force.

Do you think that this new annoucement will have any real effect on the situation, sometimes it seems to me that our administration is going to do WTF they want to do regardless of what the U.N., Iraq, or anybody for that matter says

Well if Iraq truly will not sign any new UN resolution even if it's made my money is on the US attacking Iraq. I thought they would anyway because they would never comply to the intensity of a new UN resolution and all that it requires, but this just makes it easier to say they didn't and shortens the process right up. Instead of waiting months for them to agree and break a resolution now they are not even going to bother with one so the US can get right down to business of preparing an attack.

I thought the original deal Saddam made with Annan when Saddam said he would allow weapons inspectors back in the country was based on the original resolution, not a new one.

On a side note I hear the Hussien is moving the Republican Guard out of Baghdad because he no longer trusts them not to overthrow him in case of a War. After what happened to them in the Gulf War that's probably a good idea. I bet we have all the RG Commanders Phone #:)

Yeah it was based on the original. I think they are still agreeing to let them back in - but based on original terms of resolution not new ones which would say "if you screw us this time you're gonna get it". He knows he's gonna screw them so that's why he won't agree to a new resolution.

Personally I hope they nail his fuggin ass to the wall. Over a dozen resolutions broken. This really is a proving time for the UN and I don't want to see the US get to the point where they have no more respect for the UN - which they are approaching (and rightfully given the circumstances). The UN should make a new resolution and if Iraq doesn't care to abide by it they should enforce based upon his breaking of all of the other ones. It doesn't take a genius to know that he will break this current agreement (let inspectors back but no more new resolutions) since he's broken so many earlier ones. This time next year I'd like to see him dead or behind bars.

You are asking a Fruitcake who compares Clinton to Hitler to explain something here Czar, don't expect a well reasoned answer.

All Iraqi assets held by Saddam are held illegally.
Therefore, the United States has a legitimate legal right to seize them.
