Can I get a woot for world domination?

No, but a Sig Heil will do just as well.

Seriously, Bigdude is one of the better trollers here. I always find his posts curiously amusing. Probably a liberal coming up with the most outlandish things, then sitting back laughing as others to toe the line.

I feel a 'proove you're not a liberal' comming to BigDudes doorstep soon. :)

I think if 5% of the voters switch to a "show me" stance the congress will be forced to open hearings on the Intel/Invasion matter. In my area exist the staunchest conservatives south of Idaho. They are muttering things 'like let them put the cards on the table and shut the liberals up' they are convinced the administration is in good stead. He is a christian you know. Anyhow, they welcome an investigation because they know nothing will come of it and they will win the senate 60 seat issue. Who knows what will come of it.

Err... If we are talking about Global Regimes, and it sounds like we are let me mention a few names to remind you.

Alexander the great,

Julius Caesar

Genghis Kahn

Napoleon Bonaparte

Adolph Hitler

This is utter stupidity.

wtf is wrong with you. great nations have risen...and fallen. no one here is denying that that won't happen to this country. what do you suggest, that we be more timid and avoid our responsibility to history? you are an apologist, pacifist, and weakling to the extreme.

Great nations. Hmmmm

So we've won the cold war and become the world's only remaining super power to achieve what goals?

To use our might to force our will on every other sovereign nation on the planet. How long do you think we can last when the rest of the world becomes aware of our plans?

Check out Wolfowitz' 1991 Defence Planning Guidance or Kristol's Project for a New American Century.

These people are no more than latter day Genghis Khans.

Apologist? When I'm wrong I apologize. Pacifist? No, unfortunately I haven't achieved that level of consciousness yet. I still let people like you piss me off and although I try sometimes I don't react well. Weakling to the extreme? No, I'm no weakling. Don't make that mistake.

So you consider people weak who would rather live in peace than a state of permanent war? It takes a greater nation to use their power for good instead of bombing a third rate power back to the stone age under false pretences.

You have much to learn.

Bravo

You think the glory of victory and domination is great. Indeed what can be greater? To be free. When our government lies to us and trick our soldiers into mindless slaughter with the poeple ignorant cheering them on and then tells us it is ok because they are evil. Is that freedom? When I see our troops killing an iraqui soldier I do not see a hero and the enemy. I see my brothers. And I wonder who is fighting for freedom and who is fighting for glory.

World Domination seems to be the very notion we ascribed to the Soviet Union for years. How it was against God's will to allow one powerfull nation to enforce its notion of right upon an equally sovereign nation but, one unable to sustain its own will against such superior power. Why do we, the US, seek to change our moral compus and adopt an attitude that for years we abhored? We said that the battle for freedom must occur from within. We would support internal efforts to change oppressive governments but, never with military action. So from now on we must create other reasons to effect foreign policy. Like the immediate elimination of terrorism where ever it may exist. Look out Northern Ireland you are about to become free... well they must be on the list for freedom. No?

Because there are no constitutional restrictions on foreign policy, one President may follow that course. But remember, another may change it.

If we decide at some point our path has strayed too far, all we need do is start walking toward Washington. Just a walk, one step at a time, all of us united. The option will always be there.

You and Karl Marx have a lot in common.

NO, you may not.

If you do then we are no better than this:

The policy of Russia is changeless. Its methods, its tactics, its maneuvers may change, but the polar star of its policy, world domination, is a fixed star. [About Russia]

People feel so bad about themselves that they need world dominion as a possible source to ease their pain. But even if you could acquire acclaim as the greatest in the world you would still feel like the worst. The feeling is deeply hidden but universal. It is why humanity is insane.

Exactly, and this is why everyone must vote.. Vote for whomever but, vote. I think if everyone took someone to the polls regardless of who they may vote for we'd all be better off. Look for someone who won't vote and get them registered and help them to the polls...

You people have no problem with the USA becoming the next great power to attempt to rule over the entire planet.

Is that an accurate statement?
While I'm not the biggest proponent of the idea, I can't think of a better country to try to do it. Can you?

How about we try this novel idea? Every sovereign nation governs themselves. The likelihood of world war will be greatly diminished. And the USA can try to straighten out the problems we have here before we try to force our ideas on the rest of the world.

Problem is Bush never had to learn to get along with anyone. The silver spoon syndrome. And now it's manifesting itself in what the Bush administration laughingly refers to as "foreign policy."

True enough but we also need better choices to vote for, people who won't sell out the second after they take office.

Also, I hope they day never comes where we vote for a president primarly based on foreign policy. I live in America and our president should be focused on America. The Rs in particular are getting weaker and weaker on the domestic front and are trying to "make up" for that by "getting things done" abroad. It's assbackwards from what they ought to be doing.

If we get enough of the world's population buying American maybe then the domestic issue will become affordable to a Conservative Government.... in a hundred or so years.
