iraq driving traffic laws

I was watching fox news and in the picture the signal light was visible. In the 45 min that I was watching fox news not a single car stopped for a red light and only 1 car even show it signal when turning or changing lanes. Where are the cops that supposed to give them the ticket for violating the driving laws?

Traffic signals are screwed up everywhere int he world... While I was in london, there were two different lights for the same road... one would be red and one would be green. AH! 😕

There IS this thing called a war going on over there. 😉

If it was me, my car would be in motion from the time I pulled out of my driveway until I reached my destination.

Riiiiiiiiight, because everyone in America stops at Stop signs, blinks the turn-signal, obeys the speed limit, does not drink and drive, and so forth.

Uh... I would say the "speed limit" is the farthest thing from their minds.

opes meant to say not going to the speed limit.In the video from what i can see they are driving pretty slow dont appear like they afraid of getting boomed dropped on them.

Yes, but would you not even slow down at the red lights? What's the point if you crash and get killed or at least wreck your car leaving you stranded?🙂

who is in charge of the country could be at question actually is at question at this time but who is in charge of local goverment such police i am pretty sure didn't change all that bush in bagdad. I am sure in other cities their is no more police instead they are part of military but i still think police exist in the city of bagdad.

For some reason, I doubt you can drive fast enough to avoid a laser guided bomb. 😀

In any case, the cars driving around are probably all government officials... I doubt many civilians are out and about...

what you have to realize is that people in the US and maybe canada are the only people that actually obey driving laws.

Hmm... what are these "driving laws" you speak of???

I dunno about Iraqi traffic laws, but maybe...

1. Who would issue the ticket? I'm sure the Iraqi police force is pretty busy with other stuff right now.
2. If tickets aren't paid immediately (like in the U.S. - you can go to traffic court a week later), maybe the Iraqi drivers don't believe there will be any government around to make them pay traffic tickets next week.

Thats only because we live in fear of our oppressive regime!

er... no?

When I was in saudi back in 96, going into the nearby town was always taking your life into your own hands. They paid no attention to traffic signs and they would beep their horns if you ever got in their way. There was constantly accidents in the intersections.

KK

I don't know about US obeying traffic law, when I was in NY city, traffic seemed pretty messed up, not to mention bad drivers here in Houston, and if Americans follow the law, why do we have one of the highest drunk driving accidents (per capita) in the world ?

I saw one of those in Austin, Texas, horrid road design.

Traffic lights in London:

GREEN = GO
YELLOW-only = STOP
RED = STOP
YELLOW+RED = Rev your engine and get ready to launch your car

Then again there is no 2-second spacing rule over there and they tend to drive bumper to bumper at high speeds.
