Which is exactly what bush said. Anybody remember his speeches where he talked about a LONG and HARD road ahead?!?! Why did everyone think this war was gonna be cake? Bush said it from the getgo, did people think he was just kidding?

You're interpreting what he said based on what you now know. At the time he sounded pretty positive that it would be a quick in and out for the majority of the forces, with an extended "Setting up" time for Iraq to re-establish.

Um, no - this is one thing I've thought about since the war started (I understood what he said from the beginning, nothing I've seen so far has really been out of the norm). He also said that forces were going to be in Iraq for a very long time, possibly years if I rememebr correctly.

Well, whatever, I shouldn't argue with you, since I figured that was kind of what he meant anyway. I just remember quite a few ppl saying how it would never turn out like Israel's problems w/ Palestine.
