In essence: Have pesky flies and mosquitos in the house munching on your food and blood? Bring out the laser guided explosives armed flyswatters and have at it. Repeat treatment as often as necessary.

Business shall not be impeded.
Suppose we held a vote, on whether to defend the oceans and global shipping or not...
Is there an understanding that multiple people here would vote for us not to do so?

I never even considered it a possibility, but now I find myself curious as to why... and trying to imagine how that scenario would play out. How do you see it going?

I wasn't caught on the Houthis early in this thread. The US needed to hit them to hopefully deter future attacks. Not sure how successful it will be.

I lay most of this escalated unrest at the feet of Israel. Bibi had such a hard on for stopping a two state solution this was inevitable.

The US tied itself to close to Israel now the Houthis see the US responding because our economy is at risk which it is.

Hamas is responsible for Oct 7 but Israel is responsible for ongoing back and forth. Bibi gave money to Hamas to weaken the Palestinian Authority so he could stop a 2 state solution.

I'm sure some people would vote no on defending the oceans and global shipping and what-not.

Some people decide and opt for hunger strikes which I've always marveled. People will do just about anything if given the chance. People will find some way to justify doing anything.

I would say that if ships in international waters are being endangered it's necessary to react. I'm surprised it's taken this long. These people are using missiles so I find it fine to send missiles their way until they stop.

Hopefully most nations would vote yes on protecting international waters, especially ships that aren't military. Sort of unfair sending missiles at ships that don't have means to respond in kind.

Meanwhile, Iran continues its long storied tradition of active piracy in the Gulf of Oman.
Houthis aren't the only ones who get to attack shipping and disrupt oil prices!

Iran’s navy seizes oil tanker in Gulf of Oman

They have retaken what was theirs in the first place

~Iran’s navy captured an oil tanker Thursday in the Gulf of Oman that only months earlier had seen its cargo of Iranian oil seized by the United States over sanctions linked to Tehran’s nuclear program

~The vessel was previously known as the Suez Rajan when it was involved in a yearlong dispute beginning in 2021 that ultimately saw the U.S. Justice Department take the 1 million barrels of Iranian crude oil on it.

Im reminded we had a working JCPOA in place until Orange Julius Caesar revoked it. You know rip out anything Obama put in.

With that well underway it may have changed the response of Iran.

Well the Houthis are launching on ships again today. We need to blow them out once and for all.

It appears that the Yemeni's do not care, they've been bombed to 'to the stone age' for 9 years by the US/Saudi/UAE coalition during their civil war.

during their civil war.
If they want to fire into unrelated shipping containers, I am more than happy to have the US light them the fuck up. Again, fuck around and find out.

Give me a fucking break.

I guess the saudis haven’t been trying hard enough.
To avert a mass starvation and genocide of the people in Yemen, we forced the Saudis to give up their aim of stopping the terrorists.
For humanitarian reasons, the Biden admin made a mistake there.

The Houthi's land assets should already have been turned into smoldering ruins along with Iran and all of the bad actors under their influence in the region.

You do realize how much the US is responsible as a bad actor who literally steered Iran into it's radical place it is in now right.

Oh wait, you are a right wing hack, you don't know shit about history or reality.

My vote was no.

That said, the Biden admin clearly voted yes. The decision has been made. I support my nation and armed forces.

Please never support something you don't believe in. Supporting the military is different from supporting the people that send them to war.

If my house has a rodent infestation, like it does with you people, I'd rather keep the house and fucking get rid of the rats.

I mean in reality the rats would be better comrades than you as as fellow citizens, But let's start there.

Destroy the infestation. Cure the disease.

You are like a sickness. A rot. A plague.

it's sad that we choose violence instead of stopping a genocide as our way of dealing with this issue, stop Israel's genocide in Gaza and the houthi's stop targeting ships

instead we bomb the shit out of them

'murica, fuck yeah etc....

People who walk around with knives that have handles that are made from rhinoceros horn on their belts are being bombed back to the stone age? How can you tell?
