they paid him for info about iran's nuclear program. he was afraid that the iranian government was going to hurt his family, so he made up a bogus story about us abducting him and trying to pay him $50 million to stay in the states.

this dude, unfortunately, will be a marked man in iran. it sucks that he's got $5 million that he can't do a damn thing about, though. hopefully, he finds a way to get him and his family out of the country and back into the states or someplace in europe or something, where he can have the money.

See post #4: the existing thread on this was already updated with this information. Link to existing thread is in post #4 also. -Admin DrPizza

After Iran gets done using this guy for propaganda, they'll probably bury him somewhere and you'll never hear from him again.

yup, pretty much... either that or fabricate some bullshit and lock him away in a corner forever.

With spy cases like this, we probably will never know the half of it.... but why would the US put his life in imminent danger if indeed he did provide information? Saying that he provided info for payment after he's gone back to Iran is signing his death warrant. Clearly there's a lot more involved than what we (the public) see.

probably in order to stop the negative propaganda against the united states coming out of iran. the figured the future of america is more important than the life of this one nuclear scientist.

Well for one thing his family was still in Iran and the threat of execution of your family will make a man put his life on the line.

/facepalm

maybe you should go there, too... your point of view aligns perfectly with the government over there.

Did you not read my post? If I do not want more muslims in America why would I want to be surrounded by them?
